Convenient information about Minatomirai Station!

Minatomirai is one of the most popular sightseeing spots in Yokohama!
In this issue, we will provide useful information on Minato Mirai Station for foreign visitors. Wishing you enjoy Minatomirai!

1. Credit cards are not accepted for Minatomirai Line train tickets

Cash is required to purchase Minatomirai Line train tickets. You cannot purchase train tickets with a credit card; Suica can be purchased at ticket vending machines at stations, but Suica (Pasmo) can be used, however, please note that as of May 26, 2024, Suica (Pasmo)  cannot be purchased at Minatomirai Station. Minatomirai Station has a 7-Eleven near the train gates, so if you do not have cash, you can get cash at the ATM.

2. There are two ticket gates on the Minato Mirai Line

Central gate, Exit 6
Landmark Tower, Pacifico Yokohama, popular Cup Noodle Museum, Cosmo Clock, Red Brick Warehouse, Yohama Intercontinental Hotel, Yokohama Bay Hotel Tokyu,Yokohama Royal Park Hotel etc..

The landmark is this long escalator. As you go up this escalator and go outside, you will see the Ferris wheel. If you want to go out to the main street of Minato mirai, aim for Exit 6 here.

Central gate, Exit 3

Yokohama Museum, Mark is Minatomirai etc..

North gate, Exit 2
Harborfront park, Kahara Hotel, Anpanman Museum etc..

3. There are no money exchange counters near the ticket gate at Minatomirai Station

If you want to exchange foreign currencies at Minato Mirai Station, you should go toward Queen's Square and Landmark Tower. Banks and money changers are located in that direction. Money changers are located in shopping malls and in large hotels in Minato Mirai. If you want to exchange money, I suggest you leave the central ticket gate and go toward Exit 6.

There are 7-Eleven stores everywhere in Minato Mirai, but you cannot exchange foreign currency into yen at 7-Eleven.

4. Enjoy your meal or coffee, go toward Queen's Square and Landmark Tower!

There are few restaurants and stores near the north ticket gate because there are many offices and apartments. If you want to enjoy a meal or coffee, head toward Queen's Square and Landmark Tower from the Central Gate.（Exit 6）

※You want to go to Hard Rock Cafe Yokohama,  go to Central gate, Exit 6. Hard Rock Cafe is located in Queen's Tower, a very cool shop & restaurant that was just renovated in March 2024. Don't miss it!

Here is the restaurant. Next to the restaurant is a store where you can buy T-shirts and other goods.

５. You want to take YOKOHAMA AIR CABIN, you should get off at Sakuragicho Station.

The YOKOHAMA AIR CABIN boarding platform overlooking Minatomirai is located just outside Sakuragi-cho Station. It is a 10-minute walk from Minato Mirai Station, so it is convenient to go from Sakuragi-cho Station.
