GUセルフレジハウツー

Let's try the most modern self-checkout machine at GU store!

What will you imagine about the self-checkout system? I imagined one system that scanning barcode to the cashier and then checkout by myself. However, you can try the most modern cashier in the store names "GU."

What's the GU?

It's the subsidiary of UNIQLO company and targeting from late ten years old ~ early 30 years old people. Sometimes popular items are hard to get due to sold out.

The stores that have the most modern self-checkout

For this time, I went to the shopping mall that specialized in the fashion names "VIVRE." It's about 5 minutes away from Yokohama Station by walk.

They discounted Regular Straight Jeans to 990 JPY and Sweat Shirt to 790 JPY and much more at that time, so I throw these stuff to the basket.

Then I come to that cashier. Of course, I never see this machine.

It seems difficult to use. However, you can choose Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean for navigation. In addition, the store clerk is ready for help so let's try to use it.

Usage:

1. Remove hanger.

2. Open the door under the machine and put the basket into it like the below picture.

3. Close that door.

4. After that, the machine starting count and show the total.

5. Pay by cash or card.

6. Lastly, pack purchased items to the bag and that's all.

Caution

You can't use the card in the checkout machine if the total exceeds 30000 JPY. Also if you use card except for VISA, Master, JCB, and AMEX, you have to go to the normal cashier.

Plus, Some store still not introducing this machine so please check to the store before you will visit.
